1. About us and these terms

Starlight Event Shop is a small UK business selling personalised wedding and celebration apparel and gifts. You can contact us at shop@starlighteventshop.com. These terms should be read with our Privacy Policy, Dispatch & Returns Policy and any product-specific information shown at checkout.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 18, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to place an order.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity carried out through your account.
• You must provide accurate account, contact and delivery information. Tell us promptly if your details change.
• We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe it is being used fraudulently, unlawfully or in breach of these terms.

3. Products and personalisation

Our products are made to order. Colours, embroidery, print placement, textures and finishes may vary slightly between screens, garment batches and handmade pieces. Such variations are normal and do not by themselves mean a product is faulty.

You are responsible for checking all names, spellings, dates, roles, wording, sizes, colours and styles before submitting an order. We produce the personalisation exactly as supplied. If you spot a mistake, contact us within 24 hours and before production begins; we cannot guarantee changes after production has started.

We may refuse or cancel an order containing unlawful, offensive, infringing or inappropriate wording, or wording that we cannot reasonably produce. Where we do so, we will contact you and refund any amount paid for the affected item.

4. Orders and acceptance

Adding an item to your basket does not reserve stock or create a contract. Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send an order confirmation or begin production, whichever happens first. If we cannot accept an order, we will notify you and refund any payment received for it.

Order confirmations and tracking updates are sent to the email address supplied at checkout. Please check your spam folder and contact us if you do not receive a confirmation.

5. Prices, promotions and promo codes

• Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include applicable UK VAT unless stated otherwise.
• Delivery charges, taxes and discounts are calculated at checkout from the products in your basket and the promotion applied. The total shown before you place your order is the amount payable.
• Promo codes and discount percentages are set and controlled by Starlight Event Shop administrators. A code is valid only for the promotion period, products and conditions shown with it.
• Unless expressly stated, promo codes cannot be combined, transferred, exchanged for cash or used on existing orders. We may withdraw or correct a promotion where there is an error, misuse or suspected fraud.
• We may correct an obvious pricing or promotion error before accepting an order. If you do not agree to the corrected price, you may cancel the affected order and receive a refund.

6. Payment

Payment must be authorised before an order is accepted. Where a live payment provider is used, payment is processed by that provider and its terms may also apply. We do not store raw card numbers or CVV codes. We may carry out reasonable fraud and security checks and may ask for additional verification before fulfilling an order.

7. Delivery

Production and dispatch normally take 2–5 business days, and delivery time is additional. Estimated dates are not guarantees and may be affected by courier delays, weather, public holidays or events outside our reasonable control. Risk passes to you on delivery. Please report missing, damaged or incorrectly delivered parcels promptly so we can investigate with the carrier.

8. Cancellations, returns and faulty items

Personalised and made-to-order goods are excluded from the standard 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, because they are made to your specification or clearly personalised. This does not affect your rights where goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose.

Please inspect your order on arrival and contact us within a reasonable time if something is wrong, with photographs where possible. Where a remedy is due under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we will offer repair, replacement or an appropriate refund in line with your statutory rights.

9. Intellectual property

The Starlight Event Shop name, logo, designs, photographs, product descriptions and website content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, resell or commercially use our content or designs without written permission. You retain ownership of personalised wording you supply and grant us permission to use it only as needed to produce and deliver your order.

10. Acceptable use

• Do not use the store for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes.
• Do not attempt to access another customer’s account, order or personal data.
• Do not interfere with the store’s security, availability or normal operation.
• Do not scrape, copy or resell the store’s content or services without permission.
• Do not upload malicious files or submit content that infringes another person’s rights.

We may suspend or cancel orders and accounts, and report suspected criminal activity to the relevant authorities, where these rules are breached.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit or business, or losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Our total liability for a claim connected with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, except where a different remedy is required by law.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also benefit from mandatory local consumer protections. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally.
